My review:

Alyson & David were college sweethearts on the track to marriage until tragedy struck David’s family and drove a wedge in their relationship. Flash forward 10 years and they meet again.

I found this second chance love story to be cute and well written.
Most likable points for me:
~ how David takes care of his wheelchair bound younger sister, Rebecca
~ how both Jillian & Jackson, their best friends, have been around in their lives a long time and know their history
~ how Alyson & Jillian own a thriving floral shop

All side characters were enjoyable. Rebecca is very upbeat and makes the best of her situation. I was not getting the vibe that she is 26 with all her begging of people to do things for her, though. (I don’t mean physical things, more like attending a party she is throwing.) Her fiancé, Matt, is sweet and attentive. Floral shop workers, Campbell and Hayley, and David’s aunt & uncle were a great addition to the story.

There was a bit more emphasis on their work lives as opposed to them actually finding their way back to each other. There were a few times that I did not agree with choices made by Alyson, but all works out in the end. They do get their happily ever after, but not everything that happened in this installment is wrapped up. Book 2  First Time We Laughed will follow Jillian & Jackson’s love story, which I think will be just as cute as this one.

Side note ~ how gorgeous is that cover?

Florist Alyson Douglas is focused on saving her business when her past walks back into her life. She, however, is no longer a girl, and he was careless with her heart the first time.
