Book review: To Drive the Hundred Miles by Alec J. Marsh

4.25⭐

Page Count ~ 92
POV ~ single 1st
Featuring ~ transphobia, small town, minimal steamage

Will is returning home in time for Winter Solstice and Christmas with his family. Something he is not really looking forward to. Some of his family members are having a difficult time ever since he came out as a trans man.

Already on the first day he’s had enough and heads to the local coffee shop, where he meets Bea. Turns out they went to school together, so they’re not really strangers. Bea was such a great character and love interest for Will. She knew his full story already and was so excepting and just lovely right from the start and throughout the book. 3rd act breakup I could do without, as always.

Overall, I really liked this one. Even though it’s under 100 pages I feel like it packed a good punch. I felt Will’s frustration with his families ignorance and, also, his joy with those that were accepting.
I wouldn’t mind reading more about Will and Bea and how they’re making their relationship work.

Snow falls softly as dark descends early, and Will returns home to Serendipity, Washington, for the holidays. What awaits him there?

Some conflict.

Some opportunities.

Some magic.

Some coffee.

And a lot of possibilities for his future…
