My review:

Leah & Eli
I really liked Leah as a person. She had a great heart, but I felt she invested way too much time waiting around for Eli.

Eli coulda went for a crack upside his noggin about the whole Victoria thing ~ how could he not see what was going on ~ get a clue, dude.
Foster brother, Patrick, was a tool too.

Overall, this was alright, but I would have liked it much better if Eli got his act together way sooner. I did enjoy all the references that brought me back to the good ole times in the 80’s & 90’s.

I was fortunate enough to have an audio and ebook to review, but preferred the ebook on this one.
It’s narrated by Erika Schindele for 10 hours and 55 minutes. Although she did a fine job I really wish there was a male narrator, so that’s why e-book was better.

*Thanks to the author, St. Martin’s Press ~ Griffin, Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the ARC and audio copy. I am voluntarily leaving my honest review*

Book blurb:

Vibrantly funny, endearingly sweet, and a love letter to all things rom com, Jayne Denker’s The Rom Com Agenda is a story of two people finding love right when they least expect it.

You know how the story’s supposed to go…but love makes its own plans.

STEP 1: Find yourself
Leah Keegan is used to being alone, especially after taking care of her sick foster mother for the past year. But now thereā€™s nothing keeping her in the sweet town of Willow Cove. Itā€™s time to move on. Again.

STEP 2: Win back the one who got away
Eli Masterson thought he and Victoria were meant to be together until she decided to jet off to Rome for a year. Eli is determined to win her back. But how?

STEP 3: Become a romantic hero
Changing Eliā€™s physical appearance is easy, but to turn Eli into the sophisticated-yet-vulnerable ideal man, his girl pals force him to watch classic rom-coms. And take notes.

STEP 4: Fall in love?
Inadvertently drawn into the makeover scheme, Leah ends up being Eliā€™s guide through the wild world of meet-cutes and grand gestures. Even though she believes Eli doesnā€™t need to change a thing about himself. Even though she just might be falling for Eli . . . and Eli falling for her.

  1. Iā€™m slowly trudging my way through an ARC as well, and I donā€™t know if itā€™s the writing or the characters but Iā€™m not finding it enjoyable. Thank you for your review! Might end up sticking it out just for the throw back referencesšŸ˜‚

I'd love to hear your thoughts
