My review:

Ffion & Leo are back investigating a murder and burglaries, respectively, tied to the fancy shmancy area known at The Hills. Leo’s ex wife, Allie, happens to live nearby with their son, Harris.

Wow, Allie was awful, truly awful. I didn’t even feel bad for her when she was being snubbed by her neighbors. Her annoyingness was too much at times and she got an excessive amount of page time if you ask me.

Ffion is a take no crap, strong character. Dave the rescue dog makes some appearances, so that’s always a treat.

The 10 year old cold case on the podcast adds a layer of intrigue on how that’ll tie in.

Overall, another fast paced read with a heart pounding ending that I’ve come to expect from this author.

Series notes:
Ffion’s personal life is progressing, so if something like that bothers you then I suggest you read in order so you don’t get spoilers on that front. There’s a reference to what happened in book 2, but nothing too spoilery there.

Narration notes:
The podcast portion is done as a duet, so wondering why if it could be done for than why not the whole book?? With so many pov’s the story really could have benefited from it, but Chloe sounded fine.

Pre~reading notes:
Wasn’t able to get an answer to my question below, so I just went ahead and listened to book #2. It seems like there was a personal cliffhanger, not a plot one, but I’ll know more once I get going with this one.
