My review:

StellaĀ lost her job in advertising due to sleeping with her married boss, so she’s taking this opportunity to go after her passion ~ wedding photography. She takes a seminar taught by the best in the business, Connor Knight. Connor has the skills and the ego to go with it, but he doesn’t believe in love or commitment. The attraction is there, but why even try when you think it’s doomed before it even begins.

I enjoyed the retreat in France and all the people she met there, especially Liliwen who was an absolute delight. Stella’s first wedding was exhausting, weird, fun and something I would love to attend.

I have mixed feelings about her BFF Claudia. She was super fun and she had a mouth on her that gave me a few laughs, but she kept a huge secret from Stella that I didn’t like. I mean they’ve been friends for a decade, so it just boggled my mind that she didn’t tell her and I didn’t like how Stella turned it around on herself too.

The focus is more on Stella’s growth as a person and the romance is not as prominent. It took forever for them to figure themselves out. They were both pretty frustrating at times and we have the dreaded miscommunication that I’m not a fan of. I might have liked a chapter or two from Connor’s POV to help better understand him.

Overall, I liked this one well enough as more of a com than rom debut. The authors knowledge in both advertising and photography was obvious. I loved everything about the epilogue ~ even the stuff that wasn’t about Stella and Connor.

*Thanks to the author and Rachel’s Random Resources for the ARC. I am voluntarily leaving my honest review*

Iā€™d love to hear your thoughts if you’ve read it.

Book blurb:

ā€œThe photography conference simmered with talent: those who had it, those who wanted it, and those who would always suck no matter how hard they tried. Stella Price wondered where she fell on that scale.ā€

Ā Stella is determined to become a successful wedding photographer, even if it means learning from Connor Knight, a wedding shooter with sexy rock star status and an ego to match.

Ā Burned by an affair that ended her last career, Stella should know better than to get entangled with Connor during a residential course in a romantic French chateau. But while his arrogance turns her off, his talent turns her on.

Ā Their clashes lead to a whirlwind of passion, but Stella struggles to frame a future with a man whoā€™s come to distrust ā€œhappily ever aftersā€ and hides a softer side behind his image. Can Stella learn from her past mistakes and teach Connor about real love before he disappears from the picture?
