Imagine getting taken by a serial killer, getting rescued, going on the run from the FBI and then finding yourself trying to take down another serial killer. I was gripped from the get go with this funny, fast paced vigilante plot.
The story is mainly told by Amber, with some interlude chapters. There’s a nice set of side characters that Amber meets along the way. Overall, this was quite a ride that I never wanted to end. I’ll definitely be reading more from this author.
I was able to listen to an audio copy as well. The narrator did a fine job.

Book blurb:
Utterly original and wildly entertaining, with a protagonist whose life is a total mess, Killing Me is the laugh-out-loud funny thriller we never knew we needed.
She escaped a serial killer. Then things got weird.
Amber Jamison cannot believe sheās about to become the latest victim of a serial killerāsheās savvy and street smart, so when she gets pushed into, of all things, a white windowless van, she’s more angry than afraid. Things get even weirder when sheās miraculously saved by a mysterious womanā¦who promptly disappears. Who was she? And why is she hunting serial killers?
Youād think escaping one psychopath would be enough, but Amberās problems are just beginning. Her close call has law enforcement circling a past sheās tried to outrun. So sheās forced to flees across the country, ending up at a seedy motel in Las Vegas with a noir-obsessed manager and a sex worker as her unlikely companions…and danger right behind. Sheās landed in the crosshairs of the worldās most prolific killer, caught up in a deadly game thatās been going on for years. To survive, she’s forced to dust off her old playbook and partner with someone she canāt trust. The odds are against her, but sometimes you just have to roll the dice.

I absolutely loved this book! It was funny but still had a terrific mystery element to the plot. I know there will be a second in the series!
Oh yay! I was hoping it was the start of one.
