My review:

Steamage in chapter 1 alert!

Couples Jess & Rafferty & Cali & Rob have quite a steamy romp in the park one afternoon thinking they’ll never see each other again. Weeks later they realize they are next door neighbors…awkward, but wait…2 of these characters share a secret that could cost them everything.

Jess and Rafferty haven’t been together long, but recently moved in together. Cali and Rob have been married for nearly a decade with two children. The children don’t play a big part in the story and are really just in the background, which I was happy with since I’m not a super big fan when they’re in my romance novels.
Rob was my favorite character, he was really a sweet guy and I felt so bad for him. Jess was really sweet too. Cali, on the other hand, not so sweet and pretty awful at times. We get 2 added POV’s from Jess’s boss, Jackson and Cali’s friend, Megan which was a nice addition to the story.

I found this debut to be very well written and fast paced. There was a nice little twist that put a little zing on things. The ending was so crazy and unexpected and leaves off on a cliffhanger. I wasn’t aware this was going to be a series, but if it really is then I can’t wait to see what happens next for these characters.

Book blurb:

Set over one scandalous summer in London, Paris and Milan, Guilty will appeal to readers of Audrey Carlan and Sylvia Day.

A wave of guilt runs through me, the generosity of my husband and the excitement of doing something unforgivable.

Jess and Rafferty have just moved in together, excited about their future. One summer’s evening, they unexpectedly get involved in an illicit rendezvous with two strangers. It sparks a longing in Jess that had been hidden. Rafferty, meanwhile, is turned on by this new side of Jess and the carnal adventures that lie in store…

But when two strangers turn out to be anything but, it shakes the foundations of their relationship.

Jess becomes close to her boss, the good-looking and charming Jackson, and Rafferty feels threatened. Like a wounded animal, he retreats and lashes out spectacularly.

In this game of love and rivalry who will prevail, the innocent or the guilty?
