Standalone Book in the Behind The Office Door Series

Author Content Warning: Mild narcissistic ex partner and body shaming. Explicit sex scenes

This novel is dual point of view. I really enjoyed writing it this way so that the reader gets totally immersed in the story. It also gives an insight into how we perceive things differently. In this part of the story Stephen is enjoying watching Dem from a distance.

Extract: (with explicit language)

Stephen was fascinated watching the three of them from his covert position. The short-haired one kept casting a coy look at him over her shoulder, but he pretended not to notice, although as he was doing the same to her they did lock gazes a few times. He was enjoying watching her get pissed off with the number of people that kept coming past them and he’d lost count of the amount of times she said, ‘Oh for fuck’s sake’ or ‘Jesus Christ’.

He was hoping more people would come by though, because she kept having to step into the tiny space he was occupying and pressing up against him. He’d never had such a sensual moment with his clothes on before.

Women that swore were a turn-on for him. Not ones that just used it for the sake of it, but someone who knew exactly when to say it and the fact that she had quite a soft, slightly posh accent only added to the appeal. What would it be like if she came up to him right now and just said ‘Fuck me!’ He was quite a sexually free being, but he’d never done it on a train.

The sound of raucous laughter drew his attention back to them. He’d clearly missed something involving a bottle and the ticket inspector. He didn’t think she laughed much; well not like she was right now. Her face was aglow, bright, and full of pure joy. It suited her.

His current playlist was ending, so he flicked through his phone once more finding just what he was looking for…Boy by Charlie Puth. He was a little taken aback when he felt a tap on his shoulder.

‘Do you want to join us?’ She was standing there, indicating towards a table that was now empty, well her two friends were sitting there.

‘Are you sure?’ He wanted nothing more than to go and join them, perhaps he would learn her name, find out where she was from, if indeed she was with someone. ‘You look like you’re having a fun time, wouldn’t want to intrude.’

‘Nonsense,’ she insisted. ‘Anyway, we need someone to keep us under control.’ Oh he didn’t want to control her, far from it. He wanted to see her lose all control and cast herself free of all the shackles she seemed to be chained to.

He leaned in towards her ear and whispered. ‘I’d love to see you lose control some more.’ Had he really just said that?  Surely not, she was going to think he was a total dick now, best try and cover it up. ‘Hello ladies.’ He said with a confidence he didn’t feel and sat down next to the woman with the long hair that had been clambering on the baggage rack at one point.

Book blurb:

Recently separated Demelza is nearing 50 and learning to live life again away from her problematic ex. The menopause is causing havoc with her hormones and after years of frustration she finds herself attracted to a much younger man.

28 year old wanna be comedian Stephen Shaw knows he’s attractive. He’s worked hard on his talent and physique but he never imagined being instantly smitten by a woman old enough to be his mother.

After an almost one night stand, Stephen starts work as Demelza’s new PA and the sparks continue to fly.

When Demelza’s ex comes back on the scene, she has to stand her ground and find the strength to fight for what she believes in.

Stephen shows Demelza what it’s like to have a man that’s kind, considerate and confident in life and also in the bedroom.

Will their relationship turn into something lasting or is Stephen just a Shaw thing?

This dual POV spicy romance has a supportive cast of friends and sizzling chemistry.
