My review: 4 â
Book 1 in the Holidates series.
Alexis and her 4 best friends are all independent women who are tired of their parents nagging them about settling down. One night they have an idea to create an app ~ Holidate. This deceivingly, clever app helps people find a date for any event with no strings attached.
Wesley is a successful bar owner who doesn’t have time to date, but is eager to get his nagging mother off his back, so he downloads the Holidate app.
Alexis and Wesley are a match and make a plan to spend Christmas with Alexis’s family. Wesley steps into his role with ease and you can’t help but love him. Soon, the snow is falling and the sparks are flying in this super cute, sweet, one sitting holiday read.
I’m always a fan when it’s written in dual point of view. The story flowed along nicely with their instant connection and the amount of steam was perfect for the length of the book.
The bonus epilogue was a nice surprise too!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

What happens when you rent a date for the holiday, but a phone app matches you to your forever-plus-one?
Alexis
Commitment wasnât a priority. I was an independent woman and handled everything on my own, no man necessary. My family couldnât understand the concept. So, I developed the Holidates app to help people like me who just needed a date to bring home to their families during the holidays. I tested it out on myself and my holidate turned out better than expectedânice, likeable, easy to be with. Of course, I forgot that relationships were simple when there was nothing on the line. No future, no heartbreak, no getting along for long periods of time. Then the unthinkable happened. We were snowed in and had to share a bed. No biggie. Until I realized I wanted to share more than one night. But a deal is a deal. And I wouldnât break it…unless thatâs what he wanted, too.
Wesley
I never met a woman who didnât want a long-term commitment. So when a dating app matched me with Alexis, we were the perfect couple, blissful in our âfor nowâ arrangement. I could survive anything for a few days. Except with her, I wasnât just surviving–I was actually enjoying myself. When bad weather ruined our chance to go home and end the date, I was happy about it. I wasnât ready to be done, so I bit the bullet and asked her to be my New Yearâs Eve holidate, too. She agreed, but she didnât know I planned to have her all the days in between. I wasnât a resolution kind of guy, but if I was, Iâd vow to convince Lexi to be mine forever.
