My review:

Kate is an erotica novel author that has an unconventional marriage. She’s not interested in sex, so her husband, Matt, has permission to have affairs while he’s often away on business. The kicker is that he has to tell her every detail so she can write about it in her books. We’re right alongside Kate as she writes, so we’re reading two books at once.

Annie is the new neighbor down the street who has developed a friendship with Kate since their daughters have become friends. Annie is a quirky character and may not be who she seems.

This was an interesting one. The characters try to be likable, but they’re really not. Matt starts off okay, but then you find out he likes to go on 34 mile bike rides and your thoughts start to waver. Then he’s riding for 69 miles for funzies and now he’s definitely moving into crazy talk territory with leg muscles that could probably crack a walnut. Kate’s daughter is lovely, but Annie’s could use a lesson on some manners. Heidi, friend of Kate’s, is definitely someone you’ll want by your side. Not only does she run a dog rescue, but she’d be right there to help you push someone off a cliff if they needed it.

Not in the thriller category and more just domestic drama, which was fine. It’s not hard to figure out where the story is heading, but it has a satisfying conclusion.

Book blurb:

Perfect for fans of Kiersten Modglin’s The ArrangementThe Widow on Dwyer Court is a sexy psychological thriller that will leave you breathless.

Thirty-six-year-old stay-at-home soccer mom Kate Burke is happily married to Matt Parsons, although their marriage looks very different behind closed doors. Kate is no longer interested in having sex with her husband. So, while they still love each other madly, they make an arrangement: Matt can have one-night stands with other women on work trips, but when he returns home, he has to tell Kate about them—every juicy detail.

Because Kate has a secret life writing erotic romance novels, and Matt’s adulterous affairs are her bread and butter.

The family equilibrium is upset, however, when Annie Meyers, an eccentric young widow, moves to town with her daughter. At first Kate is smitten with this wild, witty woman, who gives her a much-needed break from the other picture-perfect suburban moms, although she’s not sure how much of her secret life she’s willing to share with her new friend. But it turns out Annie has secrets too—big ones that could destroy all their lives.
