My review: 3ā
This is book #2 of 3 in the Hot and Hammered series
Book #1 review ~ Fix Her Up
Meh ~ I didn’t love this one like I wanted to. It took me a lot longer to read it than normally I would take for a book this size. I was a bit bored for most of it, but I was happy with how it all played out in the end.
$6 for a glass of iced down ginger ale?!?! Remind me not to hit up a Manhattan bar anytime soon. Surely I could truck it down to the bodega on the corner in my ice pick heels and get a 2 liter of Schweppes for $2.
Rosie and Dominic have been together since middle school and married for 10 years. They no longer communicate, have scheduled intimacy and just go about their lives like everything is okay. Until Rosie has had enough and leaves him.
Veteran, overprotective, domineering Dominic hasn’t really been the same since he returned from overseas. Little does he know his wife needs more out of their marriage. When she suggests seeing a marriage guru he begrudgingly agrees.
When guru, Armie, has them doing certain tasks to see if their marriage is salvageable they both realize what they thought they were doing wasn’t exactly what the other needed.
Ultimately, all works out as we knew it would, but it was an annoying road to get there. They have unbelievable chemistry thoughš„š„š„
The secret was lame and such a unmarried like one to keep.
I liked getting a peek at how Travis and Georgie are doing and I hope I enjoy reading about Bethany and Wes.
Book blurb:
Rosie and Dominic Vega are the perfect couple: high school sweethearts, best friends, madly in love. Well, they used to be, anyway. Now, Rosie’s lucky to get a caveman grunt from the ex-soldier every time she walks in the door. Dom is faithful and a great provider, but the man she fell in love with 10 years ago is nowhere to be found. When her girlfriends encourage Rosie to demand more out of life and pursue her dream of opening a restaurant, she decides to demand more out of love, too. Three words: marriage boot camp.
Never in a million years did Rosie believe her stoic, too-manly-to emote husband would actually agree to relationship rehab with a weed-smoking hippie. Dom talking about feelings? Sitting on pillows? Communing with nature? Learning love languages? Nope. But to her surprise, he’s all in, and it forces her to admit her own role in their cracked foundation. As they complete one ridiculous – yet surprisingly helpful – assignment after another, their remodeled relationship gets stronger than ever. Except just as they’re getting back on track, Rosie discovers Dom has a secret… and it could demolish everything.
Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this website. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s tough to get that “perfect balance” between superb usability and visual appeal. I must say that you’ve done a very good job with this. In addition, the blog loads very fast for me on Safari. Outstanding Blog!
